This time of stress on the SHVC has exagerated issues that we need to sort. That is what happens in times of stress.
I think limiting who knew was the best decision in a hard situation. I agree that someone from PAW should have been told earlier. Hindsight is 20/20, and in an alternate past, there could have been negative implications if the story was leaked. i don;t think it was a decision made lightly.
Post- SST expose, our group decision making processes have not been functioning well under the stress.
The issue of lack of horizontalism is a group issue and is an expression of the lack of appropriate processes in place before this crisis, and changing this/establishing new processes is not just the responsibility of the two people involved in this instance.
I like Mark E's comment and I think that was the motivation for the decision of SHVC people (who will remain nameless...), ie maximum damage through the media exposure.
At the end of the day our group will be stronger and more horizontal as a result of all this,
mmmm... horizontal
Peace be,
Anna-Claire

Must say, i think the issues about 'spying' involves and should be put to the larger activist group through out Aotearoa. It effects everyone who has contact with the groups not just the immediate group itself, it also has implications for future activists, and needs to be addressed as a much larger issue.
